The Machine Tool Alignment Process

During the course of a typical alignment and calibration session of a machine tool, it is not unusual to encounter some hidden problems. This is where our experience pays off. Having worked on a wide variety of machine tools, we can efficiently identify the problems and correct them as necessary.

Beginning with the machine base, we laser level and align it back to OEM specifications. Next, the ball screw is checked for endplay, and adjusted if needed. The gibs are then checked and adjusted back to specifications. Finally, we continue through all axes of the machine, ensuring the axes are square, parallel, and perpendicular to one another.

The geometry’s of the machine must be aligned before performing any linear calibrations as errors in geometry can effect the linear movement. After completion of alignment, we then proceed on with the linear error compensation of the axes in the control.

Ciptakan Vending Machine Berbayar Sampah, 2 Siswa SMA Tarakanita Sabet Perunggu

Dua siswa SMA Tarakanita Gading Serpong, Hansen Aurelius Tjandra dan Ignatius Gerraldo Ramlan, menyabet medali perunggu dalam ajang International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) 2022.

Mereka meraih penghargaan ajang internasional karena inovasi teknologi pengelolaan sampah berupa alat yang diberi nama Vemas: Vending Machine berbayar sampah.

Dua pelajar ini menciptakan alat tersebut karena terinspirasi menjawab kebutuhan mendapatkan masker sekaligus membawa manfaat lain dalam mengelola sampah menjadi.

Semuanya berawal dari pandemi https://www.cosmanemlak.net/ Covid-19 yang melanda dunia, termasuk Indonesia.

Pada masa tersebut, semua orang wajib mengenakan masker sebagai bagian dari protokol kesehatan untuk menekan penularan virus mematikan itu.

Penggunaan masker mulut secara benar diharapkan menghindarkan pemakainya menularkan ataupun tertular penyakit ISPA, terutama Covid-19. Tak heran, masker menjadi kebutuhan sangat mendasar saat ini.

Namun ada masalah lain yang timbul dari penggunaan masker ini, yakni isu sampah.

Ada begitu banyak sampah berserakan karena tidak dibuang pada tempatnya dan tidak dikelola dengan baik sehingga menambah masalah lingkungan.

Ini menjadi keprihatinan bersama sehingga menginspirasi Hansen dan Gerrald menciptakan Vemas.

Mereka ingin menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat mendapatkan masker sekaligus membawa manfaat lain dalam mengelola sampah.

“Berawal dari masalah yang kami alami sendiri saat ke sekolah harus membawa beberapa masker termasuk cadangan untuk mengganti masker yang telah dipakai selama 4 jam dan (atau) basah maka perlu alat praktis untuk mendapatkannya,” ungkap Hansen dalam rilis yang diterima Kompas.com.

“Kepedulian masyarakat dalam membuang sampah masih rendah sehingga perlu edukasi,” tambahnya.

Penemuan dua pelajar SMA Tarakanita ini dianggap membawa manfaat bagi masyarakat dan berhasil memikat para juri International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) 2022.

Alhasil, mereka mendapatkan medali perunggu setelah bersaing dengan para rivalnya dari beberapa negara besar.

Dalam perjalanan menuju International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) 2022, Hansen dan Gerrald melewati berbagai ujian.

Semuanya berawal pada 2021 ketika mereka mengikuti National Young Inventors Award (NYIA), sebuah ajang yang yang diadakan LIPI (sekarang BRIN) untuk menjaring penemuan-penemuan oleh kaum muda.

Hansen dan Gerrald beradu kreativitas dan kemampuan melawan 48 tim lain dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia.

Mereka terus melaju hingga final dan penemuannya mendapatkan special award sehingga berhak mewakili Indonesia dalam ajang IEYI 2022.

“Kami mendapat pelatihan presentasi dari BRIN untuk persiapan IEYI. Di ajang ini kami mendapat pengalaman yang luar biasa dan harus bersaing dengan peserta dari Jepang, China, Rusia, Singapura, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, dan Indonesia sendiri,” ungkap Gerrald.

Tak lupa, Hansen memberikan motivasi bagi teman-teman seusianya dan generasi muda pada umumnya.

“Jangan putus asa, terus maju. Berkaryalah selagi masih bisa. Waktu yang ada gunakan untuk mewujudkan mimpi yang terasa mustahil. Vemas masih bisa dikembangkan, jadi cobalah,” ujar Hansen.
